life by the seea

One of my all-time favorite movies is "The Ghost and Mrs. Muir", and since I was a kid, the house (named "Gull Cottage") was like my dream house. Ever since, I've been obsessed with living at the beach. Well now I'm all grown up....and guess what? I have a house at the beach.

It's about 3 blocks away, but it still counts! We moved to the Texas Coast about 5 years ago and fell in love with our little house by the bay. So we decided to call it "Gull Cottage" in honor of my love for Captain Gregg. (You've never  seen the movie??? Well, I suggest that you either make a trip to Blockbuster, or find it on Netflix...but do it now! You won't  be sorry)

As for Gull Cottage by the Bay, it's more of a 60's style beach house. Complete with 2 tikis in the back yard and a groovy, 1967 Magnavox stereo filled with albums... and we love it.

You see, with my wonderful husband and two dogs.... it's a pretty good life. We're in the process of doing some renovations, like restoring a rickety old sailboat, and trying to spend as much time as we can at the beach. Sounds complicated, right??? A little bit. But we make it work.

And on top of that, I've decided to journal some of those projects.... and what life is like, when you live by the beach. Here goes.....
